A Training Course for Tax Authority Employees Opened Today in Aden

Under the patronage of the Minister of Finance, Mr. Salem bin Brik, and the supervision of the Head of the Tax Authority, Dr. Jamal Sarour, with support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), a training course titled “Plans for Improving Compliance and Tax Auditing in High-Risk Service Sectors: Exchange Companies, Hotels, and Restaurants” was inaugurated today in the capital, Aden. The aim is to enhance tax authority employees’ technical skills and efficiency in line with global standards and programs.

The workshop is conducted in partnership with the Economic Recovery and Livelihoods Program (ERLP), funded by USAID, and includes more than 30 participants from the tax authority and its offices, selected based on their specialized expertise. The workshop will last three days and address the importance of training in tax-related fields to ensure proper revenue collection and knowledge transfer to all participating tax professionals.

The opening ceremony was attended by Dr. Jamal Sarour, Head of the Tax Authority; Assistant Undersecretary for Planning and Training, Mr. Fouad Al-Haj; Assistant Undersecretary for Technical Affairs, Mr. Fawzi Al-Omari; General Manager of Human Resources at the Tax Authority, Mr. Akram Al-Jamid; USAID representative, Ms. Najwa; and trainer, Mr. Wael Khaddaj.
