The Head of the Tax Authority Launches the Authority’s Website in Aden

In an ongoing effort to modernize and develop the tax administration system, Prof. Dr. Jamal Mohammed Soroor, Head of the Yemeni Tax Authority, inaugurated the Authority’s website on Sunday morning. The launch serves as a bridge for communication with taxpayers. The event took place at the Authority’s headquarters in Al-Mansoura District, Aden, the temporary capital, in the presence of Deputy Head Mohammed Salem Qrowan, Assistant Deputy Fawzi Al-Amari, and department directors. The website will host and publish all matters related to the Tax Authority.

In a press statement during the launch, Prof. Dr. Jamal Soroor emphasized, “Today, we begin a new phase with the launch of the tax website. This platform will serve as a modern and contemporary tool for communication and announcements, ensuring transparency with local and international entities, especially as Aden is the temporary capital.”

Dr. Soroor highlighted that the website is part of the Authority’s achievements, attributing its success to the efforts of all employees. He particularly acknowledged the exceptional contributions of the IT department led by Ali Hassan Ali and his assistant, Hassan Al-Saqqaf. Special thanks were extended to Mr. Nasser Khalaf, an international expert and advisor to the Head of the Authority on IT and computing.

Dr. Soroor also noted that the Authority has established a network connection with all governorates, with significant progress already achieved. He mentioned the ongoing efforts to enhance network connectivity and gradually equip offices to ensure comprehensive automation, which he stressed is essential for efficient operations.

He concluded his statement by saying, “We are moving forward with more initiatives, including electronic payment systems. We have formed a specialized technical committee, led by the Assistant Deputy, which is in ongoing discussions with CAC Bank. The bank has presented us with a comprehensive electronic payment solution, which will be added to the Authority’s list of achievements.” He also commended the role of Finance Minister Salem Bin Bureik for his support and sponsorship of the Authority’s modernization and development initiatives.
