Under the patronage of Mr. Nabeel Shamsan, Governor of Taiz Governorate, and Prof. Dr. Jamal Mohammed Soroor, Head of the Tax Authority, the First Deputy Governor of Taiz, Dr. Abdulqawi Al-Makhlafi, inaugurated on Tuesday the training courses for employees of the Tax Office in Taiz and its branches in the field of tax accounting for the year 2024/2025.
During the inauguration, the First Deputy Governor delivered a speech in which he conveyed the greetings of Governor Nabeel Shamsan, who places great emphasis on the staff of the Tax Office and other revenue-generating offices to enhance revenue development. He welcomed the attendees and the Tax Authority’s technical and network linkage committee, who made the effort to travel from Aden to Taiz to train employees and establish a network connection between the Taiz Tax Office and the Executive Unit for Large Taxpayers in Taiz as part of a strategic step aligned with the Tax Authority in Aden.
At the start of the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Anwar Al-Sabaei, Director General of the Tax Office in Taiz, expressed his gratitude to Governor Nabeel Shamsan and Tax Authority Head Prof. Dr. Jamal Mohammed Soroor for their support. He welcomed Dr. Abdulqawi Al-Makhlafi, the Tax Authority Committee, and the trainee employees. In his speech, he highlighted the importance of these courses in increasing productivity rates and improving work quality and efficiency. He emphasized that well-trained employees could enhance performance, optimize time and resource utilization, and improve operational outcomes.
He further mentioned that the taxpayer database in Taiz has been updated, noting a 90% growth in Khat tax revenues compared to the previous year and a 60% increase in real estate tax revenues. He pointed out significant progress in the growth of taxable bases.
